The History of our Building

From its beginnings in 1920, Pentalpha Chapter #38 OES met in a masonic temple located on Russell Avenue in Gaithersburg. Unfortunately, in 1972, the building was condemned and the chapter and lodge were forced to seek a new home. For over 10 years, both organizations would find temporary homes in halls and churches in the Gaithersburg area. In 1983, Pentalpha purchased our current property on Boland Farm Road in Germantown and broke ground to expand the facility. For the years that followed as construction took place, our meetings were held in the tiny converted garage at the edge of the property - earning us the name "The Cozy Lodge". Finally in December of 1992, Pentalpha held their first meeting in their newly completed lodge building where we remain to this day.
